Vicky remains committed to supporting the development of a primary care workforce equipped to meet the future challenges of the NHS. She has been involved in the provision of Primary Care Services since she joined General Practice in Croydon, as a Fundholding Manager in 1995. In 2000 she took on the role of Practice Manager for a surgery serving 12,800 patients and is currently the Managing Partner at that practice.
Working within a teaching and training practice, Vicky has played a significant role in the training and development of future GPs, Foundation Year 2 doctors and medical students from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Medical School. In 2003 she ventured into a consultancy role for a newly formed partnership, helping to recruit staff, advising on policies, procedures and systems to ensure good quality care and securing resources for practice developments. The following year she secured a similar role within Croydon PCT supporting practices in managing the newly introduced Quality and Outcome Framework targets and developing practice Clinical Governance structures.
In the autumn of 2004 Vicky was appointed by Croydon Primary Care Trust as Practice Management Adviser for North Croydon, responsible for providing general management support and advice to approximately 30 practices and, with two other PM colleagues, for organising a training programme for all non-clinical staff in Croydon practices.
Vicky has been a member of Croydon’s GP Clinical Governance Committee, and remains the Practice Management representative on the Croydon Local Medical Committee, as well as an active member of Croydon CCGs Finance and Performance Group.
